Title: Digital to Oil Painting

Description: Well experimenting, we found out a way to transform your digital pictures into full blown oil painting by using a few filters!

1. The first step to this tutorial, is to find a photograph you like to use this effect on. If this is your first time, we suggest you use the one we have chosen below.

2. Well, the picture we have chosen is a bit in definition of crispy. We can get rid of this 'crispy'ness' with a bit of something called gaussin blur. Depending on your pictures, you might not need to do this! But, for ours, we do! Use the setting below to blur your image! Oh yeah, to get there go to filter >> blur >> gaussin blur!

2. The picture still does not look like a painting. TO get in the big shades, we used smart blur to mix most of the colors in daubs of paint. Well, you get what we're trying to say when you do the effect! Simply go to filter >> blur >> smart blur and use to setting below.

3. And in our opinion, the picture look a bit quite dark and needs a new color 'enlightenment' before it can go to the next few processes. This is an optional step. Go and choose the color #BDB5AA for your foreground colors, and go to layer >> new >> layer or simply click shift + ctrl + N. Name it whatever you want. With the paint bucket selected, pour the paint on the new layer. It should completely cover the canvas.

3a. This is the additional step that is optional and is require if you do step 3. Now with the new layer selected, choose the blending mode to overlay.After you have set the blending mode, you will need to merge your layers! (ctrl + E)

4. The next step will give your photographs/images a brush-like feeling to your image. To get this done, you will have to use an artistic filter known as dry bushing. Go to filter >> artistic >> dry brush. Then use the setting below!

You are about done with your image.. Below is what I got. Simply use this method on other images or photographs to get the oil painting feel.
